NASA: Mars Rovers Will Continue to Run
Associated Press (03/25/08)

NASA has said that despite earlier reports, it has absolutely no
intent to shut down either of the Mars rovers due to budget cuts. The
announcement comes on the heels of a letter sent to the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory in which NASA recommended budget cuts to the current rover program to
cover the costs of a next-generation rover. Scientists at NASA's robotics center
said they would need to shut down one of the Mars rovers and limit the duties of
the other due to a $4 million cut in the rover program.
