First off I just want to say hello to all members and also congratulations… By joining AusRobotics you have automatically saved yourself from destruction at the hands of our new robot overlords! (Of course we need to actually build them first
I thought I would take a moment to let you guys know how things are going with the club so far as well as ask you how YOU would like to see it run in the future.
So far we are off to a great start and I am really interested in continuing to build the community spirit of the site in the future. The ultimate goal is to start having meetings at some point where we can get together and watch Kym's 5000 robots run amok hehe (kidding, sort of
. I know we might be in different cities (damn you Outback) but I'm sure we can work something out.
To that end I am interested in hearing how you think we could improve the site and get more people involved etc. I have already submitted the site to robots.net and there is the post on comp.robotics.misc as well as the AusRobotics Facebook group. Can anyone think of any other good avenues for getting the word out?
Also, I am happy to add/remove/whatever permissions to people so they can administer the site if they want to so that it isn't all going through me. A couple of pages that really need to be written are the Resources page and the FAQ but it shouldn't be too hard to enable the editing on them. Possibly a link dump page would be cool as well.
Basically if anyone feels that they have a good idea how to get more people involved or improve the site then don't hesitate to speak up and we can make it happen!
P.S. That includes the theme. I'm still trying to sort out the current one so don't mind the colours.
