Results: 7 robots showed up for the content.

I'm sure ash will be interested to know 4 were based on Leggo Mindstorm. These were the only bots that managed to even START the contest, let alone make it through the carpark to the "goal cone".

One entry was a hacked R/C truck with a propellor processor — but it was still a "work in progress".

A big RC truck had s/w problems. And a modified tank had serial I/O probs.

Only 1 of the Leggos made it to the goal unaided, although they all worked fairly well.

I am undauted with the "big rc truck" approach in one of the current projects I'm working on. There will be no s/w probs running on an open source Linux box (i.e. an avr32 with Linux 2.6.24) and most of the sensors running on usb phidgets-style.
