Farnborough 2008

This year featuring a parallel UAV show.

A sample of what maybe on show: a "big boy's" UAV is thrown out of the back of a C130.

Hi Guys.
I've been incognito for a while, but I think I'm back again!

That A160 UAV has given me pause to think of why Skynet in the Terminator movies is not such a "blah blah, whatever" scenario – just one look at the pic of the black A160 with its rockets hanging off the side and I asked myself this: What is this machine's one purpose in existence? Well, it's purpose is to kill human beings. And that's why Skynet is not very funny. Every military computer ever has only had one purpose – and that's to kill human beings.

Ya know, the thing doesn't look human, but it does look very scary what with all its black pointiness and being able to fly by itself, and the fact that its one desire in life is to fire its missiles of death at humans.

I just think this is very bad thing in the end…

Welcome back :)

Even though its offspring will no doubt kill me eventually that was a cool launch out of that container. Now all we need to do is fire those babies out of planes everywhere there is a drought or civil war and BAM! world hunger/aids/poverty solved. Hey, wait a minute….

The future never happens like in the movies. Instead of a cataclysmic nuclear war caused by a sentient machine we will instead have more and more robotic weapons that will eventually go wrong because of a faulty network card or something mundane like that.

I guess it doesn't help that the British have actually named their system Skynet… Now that's just tempting fate! :)

Skynet launched
