Oops…

Well don’t I look like an idiot! The damn thing got turned on and we are all still here!

It’s suprising how much you can drink when you don’t think you are going to exist to have a hangover the next day. I have also had to turn my phone off to try to avoid the dodgy loan shark guy I borrowed a heap of money off to spend on beer and all those other things you need when you only have hours to live. Like a brand new Ferrari with custom LCD displays set into the rims and a jacuzzi in the back!

Hmm, in the cold light of post-apocalyptic day I am beginning to think the whole thing wasn’t such a good idea… :)

Hehe in all seriousness we had a really fun party to celebrate the LHC ignition. Our scale model worked flawlessly and looked great as did all the nerds with their labcoats on. We even had a real particle physicist there!

Hope to have an even bigger one next month when they crank up the juice to eleven. I’ll dump some pics and vids on here once I get them back. :)

Found a link with some webcams in and around the facility. Provides a nice view of what’s going on over there.

Haha, I saw that page as well. :)

The delay in it was just enough for me to send it to all of my friends before the “incident” happened :)

Normally they pump the beams up for 5-10 days before they hit.

As I told the ladies in the delis — wait until next week before you stop worrying. ;)
