Ok well the migration is going well. I have an instance of Wordpress 2.5 (brand new shiny beta – the final is due any day now) running on one of my test sites and have written a nice little Python script that migrates all of the data and adds any extras that are needed.

One of my graphic designer friends has offered to help me with the design of the new site so prepare for some awesome. I will probably cut over before we get it finalised though because of the benefits I can see of using Wordpress as opposed to Drupal. Even posting comments is a lot faster so I hope this will encourage more people to write up thoughts without going through the current rigamrole (ok it’s not the end of the world to post at the moment but believe me it will be a lot easier soon .

If all goes well I am planning to cut over this weekend. The site will be running off a basic template until we can get a custom one developed but it shouldn’t take too long.
